The Summer Solstice

It is now officially Summer! School may have already finished, and the days may already be warm and sunny, but June 20th is the LONGEST day of 2012. While this is not the hottest day of the year, it is the day when the sun will be as far north in our sky as it gets. Keen observers may note that this is slightly earlier in the calendar year than usual – that is because it is a Leap Year. Happy Summer!
